Gooooooooo Bucks!

Wahoo!!  It's football season!  I was lucky enough to beat out my brother, nephew and husband and got chosen by my dad to go with him to the OSU home opener today.  :)  FINALLY!  ha ha.  It was a great day for a game and we had a lot of fun!  I think we might have enjoyed people watching almost as much as the game though (and of course, we LOVE the band!).  I took a few pics...  Thanks for taking me, Dad!!!

As promised...

I went to the house yesterday and took pics of the framing... they had delivered a ton more wood that sat smack in front of the house, so I couldn't find a good angle but you get the idea anyway.  The roof should be on by the end of this week, WAHOO!  I'm secretly hoping to be in by Thanksgiving, but that might be pushing it?  We'll see...

In the meantime, we are gearing up for a garage sale, then packing up and moving out... I spent yesterday cleaning out a few junk drawers (are people supposed to have more than one junk drawer?) and clearing things out.  I wanna get started but feel like we should wait till after inspections... grrr...

Thanks for all the prayers that have been going up this past week... heck, this past few months!  We finally came to an agreement with the military family buyers who made an offer last week.  We signed the deal on Friday and are set to close (and be out!!) on Monday, 9/22.  YIKES!!  Of course it's a big stress relief to have that part over, although we still need prayer that their home in Washington closes without a hitch so ours can as well...  but now we have the "better" stress of moving and storing our furniture for three months or so.  My grandma has graciously given us her basement to live in so we'll have a great place to stay, and we are sooooooooo thankful!!  Anyway, great news for us so I wanted to share...

On a warm summer's evening...

... on a train bound for nowhere...  :)  Ok, so I can't stop singing Kenny Rogers' songs!  He was in concert last night at the Fraze and I finally suckered a few people into going to see him with me.  Luckily for me my two cousins, Kelly and Erin, also grew up "performing" Kenny's songs with me since our parents owned the albums so I didn't have to twist their arms too hard.  It was a great night and who knew, but Mr. Rogers is pretty darn funny!  He sang most of the old favorites... and we sang right along with him!  (In my mind I pretended I was Dolly Parton for the Islands in the Stream Duet)  Pics from the night...

More construction pics...

These pics are actually a few days old... (they are taken from the back yard and from inside the basement) the subfloor is now in on the main level (the roof of the basement) so we can walk all over the top of the house!  The basement is almost entirely framed, just missing a closet and the walls that align with the concrete on the outer walls, so it's really coming together.  We got good news this week... the well driller came out and hit GREAT pressurized water at 60 feet.  The builder was "thrilled" with the result... I have to just trust him because the whole water issue is my biggest hang up during this build.  So we were happy to get that news.

We also are working on an offer for our current home!!!!!!  Ok, so we need LOTS of prayer... they came in really low, we countered, they sorta-countered (I guess) and now we're waiting until Monday to hear what may be next.  What it boils down to for them is they need a great deal money-wise and we are willing to help as much as we can so we can get out...  but we aren't giving this baby away!  I have to concede that I have no control over the situation, even though I am the acting realtor doing all the negotiating and it's SOOOO stressful!  So please pray for us!!

We've been BUSY!

So many activities the last few days have kept us out and about and up LATE.  It's almost like we've been on vacation without ever leaving home... what do they call that?  "Staycation" or something?  Anyway...  last Friday, after the Boro Hoops Tradition Golf Outing that Chris is part of, we had a get together at our house that went on through the night until 2 am.  Ok, I am WAY too old to be staying out till 2 am, that is for sure.  It was so great catching up with some friends I haven't seen in years though, so it was worth it...

Sunday morning we went to the Calpin's house for a pool party.  Shannon had several friends come with their kids and meet at her parents home in Stoneridge.  Can I just say that their pool was AWESOME?  It was heated (which was so nice because even though we had beautiful blue skies, the temp was only like 73 that day or something) and they had it landscaped so nice and they served lunch; it was a great time.  Max walked right out onto their diving board and jumped in without a second thought.  I took a pic of him "pre splash" and then one of him afterward swimming with his face in the water- that is a new trick for him and he is VERY proud.  Thanks for the fun, Shannon!  :) (ps- in case you're just like me and figuring this out for the first time, you can click on the pics to see them englarged)

Yesterday morning Max and I went to the Boonshoft Museum near downtown with my parents and Austin and his friend.  Max had a great time learning about water movement, outerspace, dinosaurs and more.  Yes, he even had an opportunity to play dress up in a log cabin, get in a jail, ride in the back of a truck, and see some wild animals.  It was a great adventure for him as is evidenced in the following pics...
