Valentine's Day Fun

Max LOVES his new robe from Tara... it's just like Mimi's (my grandma) and he was so excited to show her they could wear them while they eat breakfast together. He also wears it after his bath, thus the wet hair.

I got to help out with the Valentine's Day party at school... Seriously, I could never be a preschool teacher. The kids looked so cute in their pink and red tie-dye shirts and had fun making Valentines and playing games. This whole month they are talking about love; next Friday is "bring someone special to school day" and the following Friday is a day when we have to write a love letter to be read aloud to Max. Cute or what?

Max and Rachel... that was the best smile she would give me!

The whole class

Brayden, Max and Xander (and Chase in the back, not paying a lick of attention... he's the one who screeched last year every morning and made Max so upset!)

Winter Wonderland...

Really.  We have two inches of ice and 12 inches of snow and it's still coming down.  All three of us were out there shoveling this morning.  (I need to see a chiropractor, for real)

Max decided since the snow was too fluffy for a snowman he would make "snow castles".  Brilliant.  I sure wish we were on a beach!  Sounds dreamy.

Enjoy these pictures from our Winter Wonderland...

Max's Week With Baxter the Bear

Every week at Max's preschool a different kid gets to take Baxter the Bear home in a cute little tote along with a red folder.  In that red folder are 15 pages, one for each student, to document the week with Baxter with words and pictures.  Max was last to go... so last week, it was ALL about Baxter at our house!

Max was THRILLED to be bringing Baxter home.  He knew the drill cause he'd seen all the other kids in previous weeks show off their pictures and stories of Baxter.  Lucky for him, I carry my camera in my purse at all times so we got a shot of Max and "Bax" on the way home from school the very instant he got him...

After school we made a pit stop for lunch at Main St. Deli.  Baxter joined us, of course.  While I ordered our sandwiches Max got Bax a booster seat and sat down with him.  Max shared his drink, chips, sandwich and sucker with Baxter.  We were there forever!

If you can imagine, Max doted on Baxter all the time.  They hugged while watching tv, they slept together, they even made snow angels together!

The best part though, is when I came in to the computer room to do work, Max got my old camera and without me knowing, snapped tons of pictures of Baxter doing various things!  The pictures make me pee my pants laughing, so I'll post a few for you...

He took a shot of Baxter from behind...

with "the whole family" (as he calls it)...

and... he turned the camera on himself for a self portrait... LOVE IT?

There were so many more picture he took that are just so cute and hilarious but it took me long enough to upload these and now I have to go watch LOST.  :)  Enjoy!

Inauguration Day Treat!

Some of us are looking forward to Tuesday, Jan 20... but not necessarily because Barack Obama is being sworn in... I'm excited to announce that Krispy Kreme is offering a FREE doughnut on Inauguration Day this year.  That's right... FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!  Free yummy, sweet, carb heaven.

This offer is good for one free doughnut OF CHOICE per customer on Jan. 20.  Did you see that, OF CHOICE?  That means you can get one with sprinkles if you want, not just a standard glazed (although they are the best).  There is no other purchase necessary either, although I think I'd feel weird not buying something... chocolate milk anyone?

If you don't know where your closest KK is... click the link below and take advantage next Tuesday.  Max and I will be there!  ps- don't say I've never done anything for you...  :)

If anyone is jealous...

The high here tomorrow is 6.  Windchill will be -15.  Yup.  The low?  -7 before windchill is factored in.  Again, I loathe January.  Although I admit, the snow is lovely...

I LOATHE January...

there, I said it, "loathe". Strong word, I know but it's the truth. For whatever reason, January brings me sickness. Last year I got some virus that lasted 4 months!!!! I was a mess!!! Well here it is, mid January and I've been stuck on the couch all day with a fever, stomachache and headache. It's NOT cool. Thankfully Max dotes on me by rubbing my hair and arm.... my grandma brought me some peppermint tea too... Chris on the other hand, I had to beg him for a drink at 3 pm! No offers for anything before that! He needs a smack when I am feeling up to it...

Stupid January.

A few more pictures

We made it over to the house during daylight hours yesterday and I got to snap a few pics of the interior.  My absolute favorite is the ceiling in the study... it has drywalled beams, painted the cream color of our trim and inside those beams we painted them a dark, dark brown.  I LOVE IT!  I tried to get a good angle but this was the best I could do...  (click each pic to make it larger... I accidentally added them in a small size)

We also have all the tile work done, except for the walls of our shower... here a few of our tile choices throughout the house...

part of our bathroom, turned sideways.... weird.
