The school posted the class lists over the weekend. Man were we excited. I felt like I was going back to school. We cautiously walked up to the doors, found Max's name under Mrs. Dillon's class header and searched for friends. Trey from his preschool will be in his class... Taylor from his preschool will be in his class... KAYLEE, his BFF from preschool will be in his class. What a blessing! I almost did a cartwheel when I learned that!!!!! That will (hopefully) make this transition so much easier for him. The odds were NOT in our favor with 9 Am and 9 PM classes but we were lucky to be placed with Kaylee. SHEW!!!
On Tuesday Max got to go to school for testing and meet his teacher. He had to do some rhyming and writing while I waited in the hall. Mrs. Dillon is awesome! I had met her before and was secretly hoping that is who Max would get. YAY!!! Get this... after testing she told me that he said "Um, do you think I'm smart enough I should just go to first grade instead?" HAHAHA! She told him she wanted to spend time with him this year. :) We also got to test the new playground at his school...
Yesterday we had a bus program at school. We learned all the rules. We took a few pictures. We got to ride the bus. We met Max's bus driver for the drive to school as well. (he has a different drop off driver... weird?) Max was a little nervous. I am not looking forward to seeing what he does that first day, when the bus stops at our driveway to pick him up... alone. He will be on for a while before school starts too, like 40 minutes! Yikes. I'm nervous already!

I will have a new post next week... Max has his two hour "phase in day" where I take him to school then on Friday the 27th, his first official day with a bus ride and all.

Hope the phase in day goes well. Do you stay the entire time with him? If so, it will be hard the day he goes all by himself on the bus. Are any of his friends on the bus with him? I hope so!!! He will be fine after a day or two...it just takes a little time for this "Big" new thing in his life! Love to all!!! Mom XOXOXO
No, phase in day he is left alone, although I am working for the first half hour at the school, pointing parents in the right direction, selling spirit wear, etc. He won't see me though. That day will be hard enough for him... bus day will be HARDER! WAAHHHHH!
Wow, I am nervous for all of you!!! I am dreading Belle's first day of preschool in a few weeks so I can't even imagine Kindergarten. He will do so well though and will love it!
We put him in preschool so early so you'd think after 3 years of already being in school this would be a piece of cake!!! WRONG!!!! The whole bus thing is worrisome. Hopefully he'll surprise me and just jump on, no problem! Then it'll be smooth sailing!!! We'll see next week!
Maybe Max will surprise you and be a super big boy this year. :)
And is that a typo? 9am and 9pm classes? I thought it was 9 and 2... just saying.
