Birthdays... I had a great one this year, although surprisingly a bit emotional. I admit, after spending the day doing anything and everything I wanted and keeping myself totally occupied, I kinda had a mini breakdown about another year passing. It wasn't so much about me growing older (although that totally stinks) but more about just how quickly time goes... one minute you're 16, the next well... you're older. It happens so fast... it will happen that fast for Max. BOO! :(
So now to the celebrating... Friday morning I was served breakfast in bed by Max & Chris and was then instructed to open all my gifts! Guess they couldn't wait? I got lots of fun clothes, a new book and from Max, a pillow. His idea. Apparently when Chris asked him what he would like to get me he said "I think a pillow so in case she gets a hurt back or something she can use it to feel better." Oooookaaaaaaay... :)
Then I went for my (nearly) 4 mile run... came home for a water bottle and went to Yoga Stretch with Shea and Nicole. NEVER AGAIN. I could do nothing but giggle at the "ommmmmms" and people's faces as they closed their eyes and held their bodies in weird positions. Plus, IT HURTS!!! And I should have known better than to try to do something serious like Yoga with Nicole. Riiiiight! After (stupid) yoga, Max had a swim lesson (ps- he's doing the backstroke like a pro, I'm so proud... he'll be on the swim team this year too cause we are joining the country club!) and then we rushed home so I could shower. I then got treated to an iced tea by Carrie as we went shopping all afternoon. I spent every last dime left over from Christmas and every penny I received for my birthday at J Crew. I guess it was a good thing the Joe's Jeans outlet didn't have their grand opening that day as they were scheduled... I am out of money! :) After shopping Chris and Max took me to Max & Erma's for dinner and then we came home and made pina coladas (per Max's request and no, I didn't give him rum!) before bed. Oh! I also got to watch my choice of movie that night... I picked "Mean Girls" of course. Fave.
Saturday night the celebrating continued; Nicole and Jim were so nice and took Max in for several hours while Chris took me to Thai 9 in the Oregon District. OMGYUM! It was delish. We had to wait over an hour for our table but it was worth it. My favorite was the coconut fried shrimp. HOLY COW it was good.
Sunday evening was my party. My mom, as is tradition, made my favorite cake in the whole wide world... yellow with chocolate icing (THANKS, MOM!) and we celebrated at our house with my family. I thought long and hard about my "wish" as I blew out the candles on my cake this year... it was a great birthday... I am blessed with a loving family and generous and kind friends. Heck, even the weather cooperated! SUN for 4 days straight! I think spring really may be just around the corner... THAT would be a great gift! One more celebration left... out with the girls for dinner on Tuesday. :)

What a great weekend! Sounds like you had lots of fun, quality time. I love Max's reason for the pillow. Maybe you should've used it after yoga.
Happy Birthday! Even if it was a hard one. Getting older does suck, I wish we could just stop time for awhile.
I really hope my ecard didnt add to your dismay. I love ya!
Thanks girls! And Jenn, it did NOT add to any dismay!!! You know I love those cards... ;) XOXO
